NACHSA members represent the broad spectrum of human services agencies throughout the country. Because of the varied responsibilities of counties, NACHSA membership includes agencies that provide public assistance, child care, child protective services, adult protective services and everything in between.
The organization is staffed in Washington, D.C. by NACHSA consultant Tom Joseph who has over 30 years of national experience representing county associations and individual counties.
NACHSA members are active in several NACo steering committees and task forces. Serving alongside county elected officials, NACHSA works to formulate national human services policy. Those forums and conferences also provide members with an excellent opportunity to network with other administrators nationwide.
NACHSA members receive up-to-date information on federal legislative and regulatory action through periodic e-mails from NACHSA’s Washington based staff. That information helps administrators anticipate and respond to federal proposals before they are enacted into law. Members also contact NACHSA to share important news from their state which is then shared with the general membership.
