NACHSA Joins State and Local Organizations to Urge Delay in SNAP Cost Shifts

NACHSA joined NACo, the National Governors Association (NGA), the American Public Human Services Association (APHSA), the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL), the National Association of County Human Services Administrators (NACHSA), the National League of Cities (NLC), the International County/City Management Association (ICMA), the US Conference of Mayors (USCM) and the Council of State Governments (CSG) in a letter urging Congress to delay recently enacted cost shifts in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) until FY 2030. This delay would give state and local agencies time to implement new federal policy changes, reduce Payment Error Rates, and preserve investments in staffing, training, and systems essential to program integrity.
